Mike Holland won the U.S. national ski jumping championship, and his brother, Joe, won the Nordic combined national title at Lake Placid, N.Y.
Mike Holland, 27, took the 70-meter jumping title 1 day after winning the 90-meters. He had jumps of 86.5 and 84 meters for 219.2 points. Tad Langlois of Newport, N.H., was runner-up both days.
Joe Holland won his second consecutive Nordic combined title. He was the leader Saturday in 70-meter jumping and, was second in Sunday’s 15-kilometer cross-country race. Holland had 432.23 points. Runner-up Dan O’Meara of Steamboat Springs, Colo., had 405.32 points for finishing fourth in the 15-kilometer race and second in jumping.
