Amdahl Corp. said its earnings rose 53% to $223.3 million for the year. The Sunnyvale, Calif., mainframe computer company said revenue rose to $1.8 billion, up 20%. Amdahl said its 5890 series of mainframe computers gave the biggest boost to earnings.
