A Spring Valley man who accidentally shot his 6-year-old daughter to death with a homemade gun pleaded guilty Monday to the manufacture of methamphetamine and possession of a destructive device.
Robert Wayne Anderson, 34, could be sentenced to 30 years in prison and ordered to pay $1.25 million in fines, but Assistant U. S. Atty. Larry Burns said he will ask for only 10 years in custody.
U. S. District Judge William Enright accepted Anderson’s plea and set a March 27 sentencing for the mechanic, who is being held without bond.
The plea bargain arranged by Burns and defense attorney James Pasto dropped charges of possessing the homemade cane gun that killed the girl Oct. 10, possessing a homemade “zip” gun and possessing two pipe bombs.
Anderson pleaded guilty to manufacturing 3 to 15 kilos of methamphetamines and to possessing a pipe bomb attached to a gasoline container.
