Not All Occupations Showing Growth
It may be hard to believe that there are 2 industries in Orange County that have seen double-digit job losses in the last year. But there were 18.8% fewer miners working in the county in November, compared to the year-earlier month. And employment declined 13.6% in chemicals and allied products, according to monthly data provided by the California Employment Development Department.
Total jobs in the county increased 2.1% in the period. Manufacturing did better than that with a 2.6% gain.
