Blowing, drifting snow cut visibility over parts of North Dakota and Minnesota, and snow showers were scattered over parts of Michigan and northern New England. Wind reaching 35 m.p.h., with stronger gusts, combined with as much as 2 and 3 feet of snow on the ground to produce blowing and drifting snow over northwestern and west-central Minnesota and eastern North Dakota, the National Weather Service said. Overnight snowfall across Minnesota included 6 inches near Cook, south of the border city of International Falls, 4 inches at Lutsen and International Falls, and 3 inches at Baudette, Roseau and Winton. Snow showers spread over northeastern Minnesota and upper Michigan and over the northern half of New England, turning to rain over southern New England and eastern New York state.
