George Hughes has been named vice president of Newport Pacific Construction, Newport Beach. He will be responsible for evaluating, bidding and administering the more than $250 million in construction projects the company has in planning and construction phases. Previously, Hughes was manager of operations. Before that, he worked for John Bates Associates, Architecture & Land Planning, and was director of construction for Berger Construction Co.
