It was a pleasure to read “Big” (by Cathryn Jakobson, Nov. 27), about the Francos, Murphys, Danielsons and Mahoneys. Because the family is the basic unit of our society, I appreciated the positive statements and focus on the parents’ commitment to each other and their children to keep the family together. Strong families make for a strong nation, and we all need positive examples for inspiration.
