Culver City : Limits on Signs Approved

The City Council this week passed an ordinance limiting the size of noncommercial signs in residential neighborhoods to no larger than 2 feet by 2 feet and to no more than two sides. The ordinance also prohibits the signs from being lighted.
The ordinance was directed primarily at political signs. Council members said it was unfair for neighbors to be forced to look at large signs for political campaigns and causes that they might not agree with. During last spring’s municipal election, some residents painted signs on garage doors.
