Sacramento Storm cruised to an easy 7-length victory in Wednesday’s featured $28,785 California Breeders Championship at Los Alamitos.
Ridden by substitute jockey Bob Sleeth, Sacramento Storm opened a quick 3-length lead, increased it to 5 lengths on the final turn and eased up late to win by 7.
Rowdy Ack placed second with Perko finishing third.
Sacramento Storm ran the mile, restricted to 2-year-old fillies of 1988, in a lifetime best of 2:03.0. She paid $4.00 to win, $3.60 to place and $3.00 to show.
