Local News in Brief : Woman Faces Murder Charge in Bar Stabbing
A North Hollywood woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend during an argument in a Van Nuys bar was charged Friday with murder.
Elizabeth Green, 33, pleaded not guilty to the charge in Van Nuys Municipal Court. Jose Polgaren, 25, was stabbed once in the chest Dec. 17 and died Dec. 25 at Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, said Los Angeles Police Detective Mel Arnold.
Green stabbed Polgaren at a bar in the 7900 block of Van Nuys Boulevard after an argument over their relationship, Arnold said. Police arrested Green at the bar.
Green is in custody in lieu of $300,000 bail. Van Nuys Municipal Judge Aviva K. Bobb scheduled a preliminary hearing Feb. 6.
