Local News in Brief : NEW YEAR’S HOLIDAY CLOSINGS
MAIL: All post offices will be closed Monday, and no mail will be delivered.
BANKS: Most banks and savings and loans will close Monday.
SCHOOLS: Most of Orange County’s public elementary, junior high and high schools will be closed until Tuesday, with the following exceptions: Fullerton and La Habra elementary schools and Fullerton High School will reopen Wednesday; the Newport-Mesa Unified School District will be closed through Jan. 9.
TRASH: Garbage will not be collected Monday. This week, trash pickup will be delayed one day. In Fullerton, residents are asked to put out their trash on the regular day in the event that collectors catch up.
GOVERNMENT: All city, county, state and federal offices will be closed Monday.
