Westwood : Professor Wins Award
Prof. John Friedmann of UCLA, an urban and regional planner, has received the Distinguished Planning Educator Award, the highest honor conferred by the Assn. of Collegiate Schools of Planning.
Friedmann has also received an honorary doctorate degree from the University of Dortmund in West Germany, the first given by its Institute of Planning.
The Westwood resident has written 15 books and monographs, 90 articles and chapters in books and 18 review essays. His most recent book is “Planning in the Public Domain: From Knowledge to Action.â€
