Addicted Baby
It’s very sad that Michael Hudson was born addicted to cocaine, but to put his mother, Toni Hudson, in jail for “child abuse and delivery of the drug to her babyâ€(Dec.l7, Part I) is ludicrous and cruel.
Yes, Michael should be taken away from Hudson (possibly forever). Yes, his mother should be placed in treatment, or even prosecuted for using the drug herself. But, unless she purposely gave the drug to her baby, she should not be arrested for child abuse.
She has a disease (drug addiction), and it’s too bad she got pregnant. But, she should not be punished for it. Isn’t giving birth to a sick baby and having him taken away from her punishment enough?
