Golf Roundup : Rutledge-Smith Team Leads by 1

Jim Rutledge and Mike Smith, both of whom played in Europe this year, shot a 10-under-par 62 Saturday to take a 1-stroke lead over Bobby Clampett and Bill Glasson, who had a 64, in the third round of the $600,000 Chrysler PGA team golf championships at West Palm Beach, Fla. Rutledge and Smith were at 186 after 54 holes in the best-ball tournament.
Ben Crenshaw shot a 6-under-par 66, and the United States took a 3-stroke lead in the $880,000 World Cup tournament at Melbourne, Australia. The U.S. team of Crenshaw and Mark McCumber was at 19-under-par 413, and Australia and Japan were at 416 going into today’s final round.
Harold Henning shot his second 6-under-par 66 for a 132 and a 3-stroke lead over Lou Graham, who shot a 67, after 2 rounds of the $225,000 Mauna Lani Seniors Challenge at Waikoloa, Hawaii.
