Bird Bakes; Woman to Go to Jail

A Los Angeles woman who baked her boyfriend’s parrot in an oven after an argument was sentenced today to 30 days in County Jail and three years’ informal probation.
Guadelupe O. Rodriguez, 25, was allowed by Superior Court Judge Bernard Kamins to remain free until Jan. 3, when she must surrender to begin serving her jail term. Rodriguez pleaded guilty Sept. 27 to a charge of felony animal cruelty.
