A 3-year-old El Monte boy was seriously wounded in the leg Sunday by a blast from a shotgun that his parents said he pulled out from under their bed, police said.
The boy’s parents, Arthur Gonzales Sr., 23, and Bonnie Telles, 20, were arrested after the shooting and booked on suspicion of child endangerment, El Monte Police Officer George Hopkins said.
The boy, Arthur Gonzales Jr., was taken to Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles, where he was in stable condition with a major wound to his right leg, Hopkins said.
The parents said the boy pulled the loaded shotgun from under their bed in their home on Sastre Avenue and the gun discharged, Hopkins said.
