A THIN BLACK LINE
Orange County’s black population, just an estimated 1% of all residents, varies little from community to community, with the exception of the Marine Corps Air Station in El Toro (El Toro Station), where 15% of the residents are black. At the other extreme, there are today 14 communities/cities where less than 1% of the residents are black. Here’s how the county’s black population was distributed in 1980, what it looks like today, and what projections show will be the case five years from now:
