Local News in Brief : Huntington Beach : Man Sets Himself Afire in Alley Near Apartment

A middle-age man was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange after he apparently set himself on fire Monday night in an alley behind a Huntington Beach apartment building, police said.
Several residents in the area reported the incident in the 17000 block of Keelson Lane about 8 p.m.
When police arrived the man, who was alone, was “fully engulfed in flames,” a police spokesman said.
He was taken to the UCI Medical Center burn unit, where his condition was unknown late Monday night.
The matter was being investigated as a suicide attempt, the police spokesman said.
