The First Boston group bidding for RJR Nabisco has some prominent deal makers among its participants. Former United Technologies Chairman Harry Gray; Dan Lufkin, a founder of the investment firm Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, and investor Melvyn N. Klein are part of the group behind the proposal, sources close to the deal said. The partnership also includes Resource Holdings Ltd., backed by the wealthy Pritzker family of Chicago and Denver’s Anschutz family. A special committee of RJR’s board will meet next week to evaluate bids for the company.
