William Patrick Keeshan; President of Federated Stores
William Patrick Keeshan, 69, a former group president and director for Federated department stores. Keeshan came to Los Angeles from Lord and Taylor in New York after Navy service in World War II and joined the Bullock’s stores as a buyer. He was named president of I. Magnin in 1968, four years after Federated took over Bullock’s and Magnin and then became a group president for Federated, in charge of the department stores. He retired in 1971 and started his own business. His survivors include Bob Keeshan, the “Captain Kangaroo” of TV fame. Of cancer on Sunday in Los Angeles.
