Dubcek Visits Ravenna

RAVENNA, Italy — Former Czechoslovak leader Alexander Dubcek, making his first trip abroad since 1970, visited Ravenna on Wednesday to admire its Byzantine mosaics.
Dubcek, who received an honorary degree from the University of Bologna on Sunday, was welcomed by leaders in Ravenna, which was the seat of a Byzantine governor under the Eastern Roman Emperor Justinian I in the 6th Century.
