Eighteen of the 36 yachts in the Los Angeles Yacht Club’s Cabo San Lucas race had finished by 5 p.m. Friday. First to finish was Pat Farrah’s Blondie, a Santa Cruz 70 from the Long Beach Yacht Club. Also in port were Winterhawk, the top boat in the International Offshore Racing fleet’s B division, and Joss, the scratch boat in the Performance Handicap Racing fleet.
