An 8-year-old boy who left his mother’s home in the 2500 block of Roseview Place in East San Diego on Thursday night was found shortly before 7:30 p.m. Friday and returned home, said Dave Cohen, a San Diego police spokesman.
Patrick Vili had last been seen about 7 p.m. Thursday. Police searched the neighborhood through the night and on Friday before the youth was spotted by a neighbor as he was returning to his home. He told police that he had spent the night at a friend’s house without permission, Cohen said.
Apparently, Patrick has been missing before, but has returned on his own, Cohen said.
