Local News in Brief : Countywide : Scouts Plan Food Drive for Needy Next Month
Orange County Boy Scouts will conduct a food drive in November to collect canned goods to be distributed to the needy.
Thousands of Scouts from the Orange County Council of Boy Scouts of America will distribute plastic bags door to door Nov. 12 and ask residents to fill them with nutritious non-perishable foods. The Scouts will collect the bags the following Saturday, Nov. 19.
The food collected will be turned over to the Food Distribution Center and the National Guard to be given to needy county residents at no cost.
