NEW YORK — Police said today they have no suspects and had found no signs of forced entry into the oceanfront mansion where Cornelius Vanderbilt III, a descendant of the 19th-Century rail baron, was found stabbed to death.

William Quinn said. Quinn said Brunton had been asleep upstairs and came down to investigate noises.
