Bail for Willie Ray Roberts, suspected in the killing of 17-year-old Melissa Orchulli, was raised to $1 million Tuesday by Municipal Judge Robert P. McDonald.
Roberts, 33, is charged with murder, rape and burglary in the Orchulli case, but he is also being held on burglary, assault and attempted rape charges in cases involving two other girls.
Orchulli was killed July 12 in a Southeast San Diego bungalow. Her body was discovered by a man who was interested in renting the house. Orchulli, who was beaten and strangled, had recently moved to San Diego from El Cajon.
