Diceon Reports Record Profit
Diceon Electronics Inc., Irvine, reported record net income of $9.9 million for the year ended Sept. 30, 3% higher than the $9.5 million posted for fiscal 1987. Net sales for the year increased 27%, to a $140.7 million, compared to the $111.1 million reported last year.
Fourth-quarter net income declined 40%, to $1.7 million from $2.9 million. Net sales rose 4%, to $33.6 million from $32.4 million for the comparable quarter last year.
The company said the weakness in fourth-quarter results was caused by weak demand in the computer industry created by the DRAM shortage and excess customer inventory.
