MEDICAL
Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach and Western Medical Center in Santa Ana have already opened medical centers in Irvine, which is one of the county’s most competitive medical markets.
Hoag this week is celebrating the first anniversary of Hoag Health Center-Irvine, a three-story facility in Woodbridge that offers diagnostic imaging, medical offices, a walk-in clinic, a medical library and women’s services.
A Hoag spokeswoman said in the last year the hospital’s Irvine-based health services have been used by 3,200 patients a month, and 31 physicians have established offices there.
Anniversary events include an open house today from 7 to 9:30 p.m. for Irvine residents to meet physicians and tour the facilities and a seminar at 7 p.m. Wednesday on childbirth and parenthood. Outdoor demonstrations of fitness exercises and seminars on nutrition are planned Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
