Liberals and Conservatives

Liberal is now a dirty word.
If you’re for equal rights for all Americans, you’re a liberal. If you’re for restraint in the use of military force, you’re a liberal. If you believe in rehabilitation and compassion, in the hope that people can change for the better, you’re a liberal. And if liberal, you’re no damn good.
For some reason these traditional American values have gone down the tubes. We are the worse for it.
