She Never Tutored Wife of Her Husband’s Rival
This is to correct an error made in the Sept. 13 article, “Introducing Seoul’s Peter Ueberroth.â€
Randy Harvey mentions my husband, Dr. Ha Woo Lee, as a “rival†to Park Seh Jik, and, as proof of his closeness to former President Chun Doo Hwan, states that “his wife had tutored Chun’s wife in English.†In fact I only met the first lady once in a reception with hundreds of other people and I never tutored her in English.
This story, concocted several years ago by political rivals of my husband to embarrass him, seems to have a life of its own. I would appreciate it very much, however, if you would set the record straight.
