Local News in Brief : Anaheim : Karcher Gives $75,000 to Connelly School
Orange County businessman Carl S. Karcher has given $75,000 to Cornelia Connelly School of the Holy Child to launch the second phase of the Catholic girls’ school $1.5-million expansion program.
The first phase, completed last spring, involved opening a new physical science laboratory, officials at the parochial school said.
The Karcher donation will be used to help pay for an expansion of the school’s library, officials added. Construction is scheduled to start next spring.
The library will gain 2,800 square feet of new space with the addition, and the plans also call for construction of an art gallery to be named the Carl S. and Margaret M. Karcher Galleria. The gallery will be used to exhibit student art and special traveling exhibits, school officials said.
