Getting Behind a Poet

A sellout? Standing-room-only for a poet? What have we here, the beginnings of a renaissance of reason? A return to reading? (“Poet Dwells on Wartime Odyssey,” Book Review by Andrew Nagorsky, View, Sept. 12.)
Why not invite Czeslaw Milosz to the Music Center? Give us a chance to hear him before it’s too late. Book him in vacant theaters in Hollywood, Texas, New York, Washington, Florida. Put him on TV. Wake us up from our slumber of wasted lives on vinyl couches. Let us see how he compares to our heroes and our leaders. Provide us something to think about before we select a new President of the United States of America.
