PNC Financial Corp. and Bank of Delaware Corp. said they plan to merge operations in an agreement valued at $230 million. PNC Financial Corp. of Pittsburgh is the nation’s 12th-largest bank holding company with assets of $36.8 billion. Bank of Delaware Corp. of Wilmington, Del., is the holding company for the Bank of Delaware with assets of $1.8 billion and 33 branch offices. The Bank of Delaware will retain its name and existing management while operating as a group within PNC Financial Corp.
