Police in Orange on Wednesday released a description of a vehicle suspected of being involved in a drive-by shooting earlier this month.
Rafel Valdivia Peregrina, 18, was fatally shot at about 10:15 p.m. Sept. 6 by a passenger in a car as he was walking with two friends on Esplanade Street near Washington Avenue, Sgt. Timm Browne said.
Police now believe the car involved was a dark-colored, possibly blue or black, late-model Ford Escort with tinted windows and either dark-colored rims or no hubcaps, Browne said. The car may have been a GT model with a rear spoiler, he added.
Investigators have also determined that the gunman, who was accompanied in the car by the driver and another passenger, is either a male Caucasian or a male Latino, with light brown or reddish hair, Browne said. He was wearing dark-rimmed sunglasses when he fired the shot, the sergeant said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Orange Police Department at 532-0256.
