University 22, Birmingham 20--University overcame 115 yards in penalties to nip host Birmingham in a nonleague game.
University quarterback J. J. Walker completed 10 of 24 passes for 128 yards and a touchdown. Tailback David McCoy fumbled twice but scored the winning touchdown on a 15-yard run in the third quarter. McCoy finished with 65 yards in 12 carries.

In addition, a Birmingham High player was improperly credited with a 73-yard touchdown pass in a 22-20 loss to University last week. The pass was caught by Diallo Frazier.
Birmingham quarterback Danny Larson was 8 of 23 for 170 yards and 2 touchdowns. Larson was intercepted once. Sharif Fahim caught 4 passes for 56 yards. Myron Settle had a 73-yard touchdown reception and Tony Davis had a 30-yard scoring catch.
