Shiela Smith of West Los Angeles set a national record of 29:47 when she won the 5-kilometer walk at the TAC/USA National Masters Track and Field Championships recently at Orlando, Fla. Smith also took first in the 20-K walk for women ages 50 to 54 in 2:10:29. Smith is a member of the California Walkers of Santa Monica.
