Polaroid Corp.’s directors asked stockholders to defer consideration of a hostile tender offer by Shamrock Acquisition III Inc. until the Cambridge, Mass., company issues its own recommendation, expected by Sept. 22. Burbank-based Shamrock has offered to buy Polaroid for $42 a share, or about $2.6 billion.
