Dennis Burbank has left Pepperdine and will play baseball at Cypress College this spring, a Cypress spokesman said Monday.
Burbank, who attended Valencia High School, played basketball and baseball at Pepperdine last year. Burbank, a 6-foot 5-inch right-handed pitcher, was 11-2 with a 3.10 earned-run average last season and was picked to the West Coast Athletic Conference all-freshman team.
Burbank was attending Pepperdine on a basketball scholarship but was seldom used and quit the team after his freshman season.
