John-Roger Revisited

As an evangelical Christian I like to be aware and informed about such cults so that I can have meaningful discussion when I meet someone who may be searching in that direction.
The New Age movement is so popular right now that, though disappointed, I am not surprised to hear of the use of John-Roger’s Insight seminars in large corporations. However, when I see that our tax dollars are being spent to train government employees (the Social Security Administration and Navy were mentioned) in it, I am appalled.
And the last straw hits too close to home: the Insight-conducted ACE! pilot program in Los Angeles city schools. I am a strong proponent of teaching positive character traits and fostering self-esteem in children. But not from a New Age perspective! It is unbelievable to me that the public schools, so careful about prohibiting religion, are endorsing it in this form.
