Abortion Foes’ New Tactics

In his attempt to put the proper “spin” to the pro-life movement, Thomas must have poor Henry David Thoreau whizzing around his his grave.
Thomas (identified as “the writer of a Washington syndicated column,” but also known as a spokesman for the Moral Majority) quotes Thoreau, uses him to advocate civil disobedience in harassing abortion clinics. To what end? Toward the aim of government laws prohibiting free choice in abortion matters.
But to use Thoreau in this context? Thoreau, whose every word called for less government control over its citizens? I have met right-to-lifers; universally, they “want the government off our backs”, but welcome control over our wombs.
