Berating the Emmys

The Emmy judges need a taste transplant.

“Frank’s Place” should have swept the boards. It is not only the best-written comedy show, but the best in every category. Tim Reid deserved best actor, comedy series. I can name nine better supporting actors and actresses than the Emmy winners.

Without a laugh track to tell viewers when to laugh, “Frank’s Place” gets more genuine laughter than any show in recent memory. And it has a heart. It reveals more human kindness and insight than any present show too.

Between the Emmy voters and the crass network execs, is it any wonder that TV fare gets worse by the year?
