The environment-conscious in Hollywood--and there are apparently quite a few--met at Castle Rock Entertainment co-founder Alan Horn’s Bel-Air home to raise funds and awareness for Heal the Bay, a group organized to clean up the increasingly unswimmable Santa Monica Bay. Horn and his A-list invited guests--Warner Bros. chairman Bob Daly, Grant Tinker, Creative Artists Agency president Mike Ovitz, Motion Picture Assn. of America President Jack Valenti, director (and Castle Rock colleague) Rob Reiner and even Julianne Phillips Springsteen--heard Heal the Bay president Dorothy Green lay out the woeful tale: Much of the bay is now unfit for swimming, sailing or fishing. More than $50,000 was raised to help “professionalize” the all-volunteer organization.
