DETROIT — Right-handed pitcher Jeff Robinson of the Detroit Tigers has been put on the 15-day disabled list effective last Wednesday, Bill Lajoie, club vice president and general manager, said Monday.
Robinson, 13-6 with a 2.98 earned-run average, was examined Monday by Dr. Roger Smith at Henry Ford Hospital, who found a circulatory problem in two fingers on Robinson’s pitching hand, Lajoie said.
The 25-year-old Robinson was scheduled to start Monday against the Chicago White Sox. He may return to the roster in time for a four-game series in New York against the Yankees next month.
The American League East-leading Tigers called up left-hander Steve Searcy from Toledo, Ohio, to start Monday’s game, which he lost, 3-2, to the White Sox.
