Transient Killed Crossing Freeway
A 41-year-old man was run over by six vehicles and killed early Saturday as he tried to cross the Riverside Freeway in Anaheim, authorities said.
Manuel J. Egurrola died at 12:50 a.m. on the freeway just east of Euclid Street, California Highway Patrol Officer J. Kraak said.
Egurrola was walking south across the eastbound side of the freeway when he was struck by a motorcycle in one of the center lanes, Kraak said. Five other vehicles also hit him.
One of the drivers involved was injured. He was treated at a nearby hospital for minor injuries and released, a California Highway Patrol dispatcher said.
The CHP described Egurrola as a transient from Fullerton. The coroner’s office said relatives have been notified.
