And one quick note from the “What Price Justice?” folder: The $70-million Valerie Harper/Lorimar Television flap being tried by a jury in Los Angeles Superior Court is employing the city’s “rent-a-judge” quick-trial program, in which retired jurists preside and a court staff is hired for the case. The tab? $15,000 a week.
