The World : Bomb Hurts 25 in S. Africa
In the latest in a series of guerrilla attacks in South African cities, at least 25 people were injured--two seriously--when a lunchtime bomb explosion devastated a fast-food restaurant in the port of East London, police said. There were no reports of fatalities in the blast, which scattered glass over a 50-yard radius. The restaurant, belonging to the Wimpy hamburger chain, was destroyed, witnesses said. South African authorities have blamed about 30 bomb attacks this year on African National Congress guerrillas fighting to end minority white rule, including an attack July 30 on another Wimpy restaurant in Benoni, east of Johannesburg. One person was killed and more than 50 were injured in that bombing.
