San Diego Gas & Electric on Monday declared a quarterly dividend of $.65 a share on its common stock. The dividend will be payable Oct. 15 to shareholders of record on Sept. 10.
Late last week, SDG&E; asked the state Public Utilities Commission to decrease its 1989 overall electric rates by $52 million. The utility earlier had requested a $43-million rate reduction. The larger rate reduction request reflected SDG&E;’s recent decision to lower its requested rate of return to 13.25%, down from 13.75%.
