Garvin O’Grady of Boulder, Colo., an alternate on the U.S. Olympic cycling team, won the third stage of the Coors International race.
O’Grady and Todd Gogulski, also of Boulder, broke from the pack early in the 106-mile stage that included mountainous northern Sonoma County. The race began and finished in Santa Rosa.
O’Grady beat Gogulski by a bicycle length. They both had the same time, 4 hours 24 minutes 13 seconds. Alex Steida of Canada was third, 24 seconds behind.
