A Santa Ana man died Wednesday of injuries he suffered in a Monday afternoon motorcycle accident that also claimed the life of a female companion, authorities said.
Jorge Sagrero, 20, was pronounced dead at 1:30 p.m. at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana, where he was taken after the accident in the 1900 block of McFadden Avenue, a spokesman for the coroner’s office said.
Gloria Maciel, 17, of Santa Ana, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sagrero was driving the motorcycle with the Santa Ana teen-ager on the back when they were struck by a car turning onto McFadden from a cross street, police said. Neither Sagrero nor Maciel was wearing a helmet, police said.
The 65-year-old woman driving the car was released at the scene pending an investigation.
