Margaret Snyder Busch; Served on Anheuser-Busch Board
Margaret Snyder Busch, 72, wife of August A. Busch Jr. and the first woman to be named to the board of directors of Anheuser-Busch, the world’s largest producer of beer. Mrs. Busch had lived with her 89-year-old husband at Grant’s Farm in south St. Louis County, former home of President Ulysses S. Grant. It is there the famous Anheuser-Busch Clydesdales are stabled. She became Busch’s fourth wife in 1981, six years after she was named to the board of directors. Also in 1975, she was named to the board of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. In Chesterfield, Mo., on Thursday after a pulmonary embolism.
